NYT is so famous it doesn't really need an introduction. But in the last few years, it's been a major source of fear-mongering against trans people.
As a huge journalistic institution, the NYT is not exclusively on one side of trans rights. They had a transgender columnist for years, Jennifer Finney Boylan, whose firing seemed weirdly to coincide with the hiring of Pamela Paul as an opinion writer. They also run pieces by trans people like M. Gessen. Still, their pattern of laundering anti-trans hysteria through the respectability of their huge name had massively harmed trans people, as their writing has been used to justify legislation stripping away trans rights. Much of their anti-trans content seems to be exempt from even basic journalistic standards.
