Overview
Brian Heywood is a hedge fund manager and farmer based in Redmond, Washington. In 2022 he founded Let’s Go Washington, a political action committee he said was created to oppose “what I believe were some stupid, overly aggressive, radical progressive policies.” He serves as the PAC’s chairman and is its largest donor.
Anti-Trans Activity
- Filed the petition for the Sex Verification Requirements for Female School Sports Initiative (IL26-638) with the Washington secretary of state on June 2, 2025
- Contributed roughly $2.3 million to the campaign supporting the initiative, which would ban transgender girls from girls’ school sports and require healthcare-provider sex verification
- Bankrolled Let’s Go Washington’s 2024 wave of six initiatives, including a parental-notification measure critics said would force schools to out LGBTQ+ students
